During that time, I was feeling through layers and layers of old grief, things that felt so tender and painful for me. But her medicine, in the essence, would bloom in the moment of grief, holding it all, sailing it away on the ocean of my heart. It sounds mystical and it was, but also very simple, bringing me gently, beautifully, and softly back to presence.

Magnolia is an ancient flower, prehistoric. About 95 million years ago, she is the oldest flowering plant on the planet. She’s imbued with ancient, grandmotherly wisdom, wisdom of the divine, of our ancestors, on earth and beyond.

The night I brewed this essence, I had a dream that I was outside my grandmother’s house holding the essence in my hand. It began to flood in the dream and it washed over the bottle. For a moment, I felt like I’d lost the essence, but I could still see the light of Magnolia in the bottle. She was still there.

I woke up to rain and decided to add a few raindrops into the essence.

In this way, I see her ability to hold that Holy Light within, even when there are intense emotions that feel like a flood.

I see her as a powerful tool to reconnect with the element of water, compassion, grace, the light within and the beauty of our own expression.
