This essence was brewed in the mountains of Costa Rica in the waning moments of a Full Moon in Sagittarius.

Also known as Brugmansia, cousin of Datura, this sacred flower goes by many names, a testament to her power and ability to transform. Some other names include Toé, Floripondio, and Angel’s Trumpet. Reina de la Noche, or Queen of the Night, has a rich history of magical and ritual use.

There is little Reina De La Noche cannot do, she is a master healer and purifier of energy. One of the first stories I heard about her was how she healed a man with a broken back. A medicine worker in the Amazon treated a man that had fallen from a tree with a strong, measured brew of her leaves. The man fell into a comatose state for about 3 weeks and when he awoke, spoke of visions of modern hospitals, healers, and other worldly beings despite never having left the jungle.

This master healer, equipped with unconditional love, teaches how to move energy.

Anger, headaches, physical ailments, anxiety, fear, hidden emotions.

She powerfully reveals and helps transform and clear out, expanding us beyond our limits. She also lifts us skyward, allowing us to communicate with our ancestors and guides. She heightens psychic ability as well, telepathy, mediumship, connecting us with otherwordly intelligence, Oneness.

Her flower, from the side, looks like an ancient boat, guiding us through uncharted territories, surrounding us with light, magical protection, and wisdom. From underneath, her flowers have long tunnels, portals, to places deep within ourselves that require sight and movement.

I’ve worked with her around Pisces Full Moons, Eclipse Seasons, when I have an illness or headache, or simply to connect more to her luminous presence. I spent a month working with her as she helped me root out chronic migraines. I love sitting with her in quiet, simply listening to what she has to say or show me. In the dream realm, she has a certain magical, illuminatory quality to her, giving my dreams an effervescent feel.

Overall, I see her as an incredible, loving ally for letting go, energy work, releasing stuck emotions, catharsis, clearing out anxiety, fear, anger. She helps to illuminate us and strengthen our Presence as we face endings, death, and rebirth with more unconditional love. Her methods, however, tend to be confronting and intense, teaching us reverence and inner strength.
