She allows one to stay strong in their energy field, with clear boundaries. Yarrow calls in balance and wholeness, solid and strong, as we navigate difficult emotions or intense environments. Calling in the compassionate energy of Kuan Yin, this essence was brewed on the Summer Solstice, the peak of light and protection. She allows us to navigate the busy heat of the summer with calm, compassionate, and grounded grace.

I also feel her ancient wisdom in this Essence. Some of the first evidence of Yarrow usage was found in a small pouch around the neck of a Neanderthal in a grave dating back to about 62,000 years ago. This illustrates a narrative of a long history of intimacy and connection between humans and this sacred plant. She is found throughout cultures, well known in Greek culture in the legend of Achilles who was taught to make a salve to heal his warriors. In fact, the Latin name for Yarrow is Achillea millefolia.

Yarrow feels almost as if it came to us from a different planet, evolved alongside us, healed us, and taught us how to be more human, more within our bodies, stable, solid, healthy, and whole.
